PIPEDA and Privacy Accountability Summary

This page summarizes how PuppyGenes follows the ten privacy principles of PIPEDA and, where it applies, Québec's private-sector privacy law. Our Privacy Policy has the details.

Accountability. 1001635490 Ontario Inc. is responsible for the personal information it controls, including information handled by our service providers. Our Privacy Officer oversees this.
Identifying purposes. We explain why we collect information before or when we collect it.
Consent. We ask for consent at kit activation, and separately before Genie is first used. You can withdraw consent.
Limiting collection. We collect only what we need. Samples go to the laboratory labelled by kit barcode, not by name.
Limiting use, disclosure and retention. We use personal information only for the stated purposes and delete it when it is no longer needed. Information that has been de-identified so that it no longer identifies you may be kept and used for product development, research and with business partners, as our Privacy Policy explains.
Accuracy. You can update your account and dog profile at any time and ask us to correct information.
Safeguards. We protect information with measures suited to its sensitivity and require the same of our providers.
Openness. Our Privacy Policy and provider list are public.
Individual access. You can ask to see and correct your information and download a copy from your account.
